Dream Little with Averilda Haze
Inspired by the limitless dreams of the little ones!
Littlies (Kids) dream big. Their dreams don’t usually involve a downpour after hanging out the washing or not concentrating in a meeting and then being asked a question. The littlies dream what they want, when they want.
We want to celebrate dreaming little and put paint to canvas to remind us to also “Dream Little” every now and then.
Averilda Haze is a wife\husband team currently based in Adelaide but also at home in Queensland and Tasmania. The name Averilda is a family name tracing back several generations to some of the first Australian settlers in our family tree.
Side story! Daniel Fitzpatrick was our first ancestor to make it over to this great south land, although the year was 1832 and Australia was a convict colony (so maybe not that great). Danny boy, hailing from Ireland was unlucky enough to get caught stealing a sheep (where was the luck of the Irish on that one Danny?!) and was transported to Port Jackson, Sydney on the Captain Cook as a convict. Danny didn’t have to spend too long digging trenches on the chain gang until that Irish luck returned. He was given the option to farm the land out past the Blue Mountains. He took that option! His wife made it over a couple of years later, a few other things happened and here we are today! Nice one Danny Boy!
And where did ‘Haze’ come from? well, our daughter at times would wander around the house in a “haze”, smiling and laughing for no apparent reason! We call this the Averilda Haze, a time where she is dreaming her little dreams without limits.
Hayley (The one with the real talent) has been practicing her cartoon style of art since she was knee high to a stegosaurus, but in recent years has adapted her bright\friendly style to canvas. Hayley has now started to “Dream Little” and would love to use her skills to brighten a room or a life wherever possible.
